The remains of the viaduct can today be seen from the road (N56) which carries on from the Barnes Gap on the road to Creeslough.
Located near Creeslough, the Owencarrow Railway Viaduct on the Burtonport Extension of the Londonderry and Lough Swilly Railway was the largest engineering structure anywhere on the narrow gauge railway in Ireland.
