Designed by the George Halpin (1779-1854), who was the Inspector of Works and Lighthouses for the Ballast Board from 1810 until his death in 1854.
Sitting on the edge of a narrow peninsula into Donegal Bay to the east of Killybegs is St. John’s Point Lighthouse. The lighthouse is built from cut granite, traditional in style and sits beautifully within the surrounding unspoilt area.
