Star Wars: The Last Jedi, also known as Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi, was written and directed by Rian Johnson. Filming for parts of this took place in Malin Head during 2016. It is the second episode of the Star Wars sequel trilogy and the eighth episode of the main Star Wars film franchise, following The Force Awakens 2015.

With the destruction of the Republic, the evil First Order reigns. Now, Supreme Leader Snoke looks to crush what's left of the Resistance and cement his grip on the galaxy. But hope survives: Rey has found Luke Skywalker, a legendary Jedi Master who can change the tide of war.

The cast included Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Domhnall Gleeson, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver in returning roles and Benicio del Toro, Kally Marie Tran and Laura Dern starting new.
